Kuwait Energy Egypt has 3.5 billion barrels of total proven oil reserves and 65 Tcf of proven natural gas reserves as at 31 December 2016. Its total oil production averaged approximately 0.7 mmbopd and its total gas production averaged 41.8 billion cubic metres during 2016. Kuwait Energy Egypt holds a working interest in four concessions in Egypt. Kuwait Energy is the operator of three of the four producing assets which are Abu Sennan (AS) and Burg Al Arab (BEA) in the Western Desert and Area “A” in the Eastern Desert, while the non-operated asset is East Ras Qattara (ERQ) in the Western Desert. Kuwait Energy produces oil from all four of its assets which make up a significant portion of the Company’s production. The ERQ licence area is a significant production asset, representing approximately 30% of the Kuwait Energy’s total working interest oil production in 2017. Kuwait Energy’s assets in Egypt were producing approximately 15 kboepd in 2017 representing around 55% of the Company’s total production during that year. Over the period from 2008 to 2017, Kuwait Energy achieved above 50% exploration drilling success rate with respect to its Egyptian assets.
